Dreams Are Meant For Midnight

I never was a princess,

I never was a queen,

I am only just a lady,

Who wears old, faded jeans.

When I was a younger girl,

I always used to dream,

Of shining knights and rainbow lights,

And the happiness love brings.

Dreams are meant for midnight

And not for lonely days.

But the nighttime sings

With the love you bring

Even when the darkness fades.

When you came into my life,

All my dreams had been put away.

But you reached deep down inside my soul

And showed me the light of days.

My eyes showed you the pain

But you held me tight

And showed me that

It would never rain again.

Dreams are meant for midnight

And not for lonely days.

But the nighttime sings

With the love you bring

Even when the darkness fades.

I never was a princess,

I never was a queen,

But you made me a lady,

Even when I wore my jeans.

Now I am an older girl,

And I no longer have to dream,

For you will always be with me,

We'll always be a team.

Dreams are meant for midnight

And not for lonely days.

But the nighttime sings

With the love you bring

Even when the darkness fades.
