As We Grow

As we grow older, yes, you and I,

our lives begin to change.

The years, yes swiftly, they do go by,

the times, they feel so strange.

While still in school we count the years

until we're on our own.

Now we only count our fears

and say good-bye to home.

Suddenly, we're all alone, scared,

scared of moving on.

We wonder why we even dared

to try and greet the dawn.

But while our worlds are tumbling down

we know of nothing that we lack.

And at times, when our smiles turn into frowns,

we know we'll never go back.

So on into life we bravely go,

marching hand in hand.

Our pace, well, we'll keep it slow,

at times, we may even stand.

So, as we grow older, now it's you and me,

our courage has grown bolder...

Say, do you rmember how to climb a tree?
